Now it is time to put my learning of media to actual fact. An acquittance recommended to try a swede. After not knowing what it is I simply looked it up on google. Google however had decided to give me film made by Swedish people. After specifying to the search engine, I found a few sources and a thing called a swede fest. Which I will give a concreate definition in the next section. To further idea of production. I found a few friends to help with the project they will have different roles but, I will be the cinematographer. Which as stated in an older post will be the camera positions. I am also slightly will be doing sets/prop design. This role fits me the best because it requires the least amount of talking and I do not do well with computers. So, with this role the Lego set up will return.
What is a Swede?
When I was recommended a swede, I had to ask, 'what is it?' which is a problem if you want to do one. So, I did some basic researching, and... A swede is a low to no budget (DIY) film based on and to replicate a pre-existing iconic scene in media. Absolutely everything needs to just be a household item. The music could be actual instruments, but it is common to use your voice. Which was off tangent. However, these often include a similar to replicated cinematography, sound, narrative and editing. In turn this is now a test of skill.
There is also a festival called a swede-fest; were people put their swedes into a competition on who has the better swede.
One of my favorites still, examples from a swede would include this:
Jurassic Park: Low-budget Remake
There are many iconic scenes I can think of on the top of my head, but I personally want to do either science fiction and/or fantasy which is what is above. This swede takes from the classic, blockbuster, Jurassic Park. The dinosaur is entirely made of cloth, paper and cardboard which is what it is. The swedes are, just these recreations with bad props.
